BCAA (branched-chain amino acids), is a sports nutrition, containing three most important for metabolism amino acids, namely leucine, isoleucine and valine.
The use of these amino acids during sports training protects muscle tissue from decay (in fact, BCAA acts as an energy source) and regulates the secretion of several hormones. This makes the sports supplements essential for a gain of lean body mass or weight loss. There are more than 200 amino acids, but only 9 of them cannot be synthesized in the body and must be supplied in the diet or supplements.
Why do we need amino acids? The amino acid leucine, which is a part of BCAA, is used by the body to produce energy. The use of BCAA for a workout can give energy for 2-3 additional exercises.
Leucine is able to regulate muscle cell energy consumption to run the process of its growth even in the absence of carbohydrates. It is therefore recommended to use BCAA during the training, and at the end of the training to close the "carbohydrate window".
BCAA normalizes insulin levels; the use of these amino acids affects the secretion of growth hormone and hormone of hunger – leptine. All this has a positive effect on the ability to gain lean muscle mass.
One of the excellent examples of BCAA from Universal Nutrition is BCAA Pro. It contains leucine, isoleucine and valine in the ratio 2: 1: 1. These amino acids, particularly leucine, are the building blocks for muscles, essential for maintaining the dry weight at a low-calorie diet, improve endurance, accelerate recovery. These properties are essential for athletes of any level. This BCAA supplement is inexpensive, conveniently encapsulated and has a proper dosage. The use of this BCAA during strength training is able to speed up recovery, increase the power rates and protect muscle tissue from decay.
